OpenAI has introduced Premium seats for ChatGPT Business users. The new option costs $125 per user each month. However, annual billing lowers the price to $100 per user monthly.

Premium seats provide five times more usage than Standard seats. They also remove the existing five-hour usage limit. Additionally, users receive predictable weekly usage resets, while businesses can purchase shared workspace credits when needed.

Premium Seats Target Heavy Business Users

OpenAI says Business customers increasingly use ChatGPT for demanding workloads. These include inventory planning, marketing campaigns, business analysis, customer experience work, and product development. Therefore, the company designed Premium seats for employees who need greater capacity.

Developers can also use the additional capacity with Codex. Meanwhile, marketers and analysts can handle larger projects without reaching the standard five-hour restriction. As a result, businesses can allocate higher-capacity access to their most active users.

Standard seats remain available at $25 per user monthly. Alternatively, annual billing costs $20 per user monthly. Businesses can also combine Standard and Premium seats within the same workspace.

Early Customers Can Receive Credits

OpenAI is also offering an introductory credit promotion. The first 10,000 eligible Business customers can receive $100 in workspace credits for each Premium seat. However, the offer covers a maximum of five seats, giving eligible customers up to $500 in credits.

To qualify, workspace owners must join OpenAI’s Premium waitlist using their Business account email. The promotion ends August 20. Furthermore, some customers who register may receive access before the broader rollout.

The new tier gives OpenAI a more flexible pricing structure for workplace AI. Instead of assigning identical access to every employee, companies can match seat levels to individual usage. Consequently, teams can reserve higher-capacity access for employees handling intensive AI workloads.
