Hub71, Abu Dhabi’s global technology ecosystem, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Key Capital to expand startups’ access to international investors.
The partnership aims to strengthen funding opportunities and support the global expansion of emerging technology companies. Additionally, it will connect Hub71 startups with international investment networks and provide access to specialized expertise.
Under the agreement, Key Capital will join Hub71 as a Capital Partner. Consequently, startups will gain opportunities to engage with global investors, receive mentorship, and explore new markets.
The collaboration will also allow Key Capital to participate in startup selection, ecosystem programs, and networking events.
Strengthening International Investment Opportunities
The agreement builds on two years of collaboration between Hub71 and Key Capital through Key Trek London.
The annual roadshow connects technology companies from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) with international investors. Moreover, it provides founders with opportunities to establish relationships with investment firms across the UK and Europe.
Over the past two years, 14 Hub71 startups have participated in Key Trek London. Together, these companies attended more than 120 one-on-one meetings with UK and European investors.
Furthermore, nine Hub71 startups participated in the 2026 roadshow, strengthening their exposure to international investment opportunities.
The participating companies included Thndr, Abhi, NymCard, NodeShift, BioSapien, eVoost AI, FlapKap, Orbii, and Synapse Analytics.
Their participation followed Hub71’s inaugural involvement in the program in 2025. As a result, the collaboration continues to create opportunities for startups seeking investment and international expansion.
Supporting Startup Growth and Expansion
Beyond investor meetings, the collaboration has already helped generate investment opportunities for companies within the Hub71 ecosystem.
For instance, Hub71 startup RemotePass secured investment from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The investment followed an introduction during Key Trek 2024.
Additionally, founders from previous editions have maintained relationships with investors they met during the London roadshow.
These connections demonstrate how international networking initiatives can support long-term fundraising opportunities and business development.
Meanwhile, the expanded partnership will provide Hub71 startups with additional investment expertise and mentorship. It will also strengthen their ability to engage with investors beyond regional markets.
Through its Capital Partner role, Key Capital will contribute to ecosystem activities and startup development programs. Consequently, participating companies can benefit from greater international visibility and access to strategic relationships.
Expanding Abu Dhabi’s Global Startup Network
Launched in 2023, Key Trek connects MENA technology companies with international investors through curated meetings and engagement opportunities in London.
The initiative helps startups establish relationships with global investment firms while exploring opportunities for international growth.
Furthermore, the expanded collaboration reinforces Hub71’s efforts to connect Abu Dhabi-based technology companies with international capital and investment expertise.
By strengthening these connections, the partnership aims to support startups at different stages of growth and facilitate their expansion into new markets.
The agreement also reflects the growing importance of cross-border investor networks in supporting technology entrepreneurship across the region.
Ultimately, the partnership will help Hub71 startups access global investment opportunities, build strategic relationships, and strengthen their international growth prospects.
