Asus Republic of Gamers has introduced the ROG GR70, a compact gaming mini PC that delivers desktop-class performance in a 3-liter chassis. The system, which debuted earlier this year, combines AMD Ryzen 9 processors with Nvidia GeForce RTX 50-series laptop GPUs for gamers seeking high performance in a small footprint.
High-end hardware in a compact design
The ROG GR70 is the first ROG gaming mini PC built on AMD’s Ryzen 9 platform. The flagship model features the Ryzen 9 9955HX3D processor with 16 cores, 32 threads, Zen 5 architecture, and second-generation 3D V-Cache technology. It also includes an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU with up to 115W of graphics power.
Meanwhile, another configuration pairs the Ryzen 9 8940HX processor with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop GPU.
Despite its compact size, the system measures just 282.4 × 187.7 × 56.5 mm and weighs 2.73 kg. It uses a triple-fan cooling system called ROG QuietFlow to manage heat efficiently.
Moreover, the mini PC supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet. It also includes two HDMI 2.1 ports, two DisplayPort outputs, and one USB4 port. As a result, users can connect up to five displays simultaneously.
Memory, storage, and pricing
The ROG GR70 offers expandable memory of up to 96 GB of DDR5-5600 through SO-DIMM slots. In addition, it supports both PCIe 5.0 and PCIe 4.0 M.2 SSDs for storage expansion. An external 330W power adapter supplies power to the system.
In Europe, the RTX 5070 model with the Ryzen 9 9955HX processor and 32 GB of DDR5 memory is priced at €3,478. Meanwhile, the RTX 5060 version with the Ryzen 9 8940HX processor and 16 GB of memory costs €2,888.
Retail listings in the United States indicate lower prices. The RTX 5070 model starts at around $2,599, while the Ryzen 9 9955HX3D variant is listed closer to $2,800.
Premium mini PC targets space-conscious gamers
The ROG GR70 joins the growing small-form-factor gaming PC market, where compact size and powerful hardware appeal to users who want to save desk space. However, the Ryzen 9 9955HX3D version has not yet reached the European market, although retailers in the United States have started accepting orders.
The system carries a premium price compared with similarly equipped desktop PCs. Nevertheless, buyers looking for high-end gaming performance in a highly compact chassis may find the design and engineering worth the additional cost.
