Sony Expands ULT POWER SOUND Lineup With Three New Bass-Powered Speakers
The ULT POWER SOUND series has expanded with three new party speakers: ULT TOWER MAX, ULT TOWER 7 and ULT TOWER 5. Developed with hip-hop creators, the lineup offers deeper bass, higher sound pressure and flexible entertainment features.
Moreover, each model targets different settings, from large events to smaller gatherings. The ULT TOWER MAX leads the range, while the ULT TOWER 7 balances power and portability. Meanwhile, the compact ULT TOWER 5 supports parties, karaoke and everyday listening.
Powerful Bass and Immersive Sound
Large circular woofers, spacious cabinets and the ULT DUCT system strengthen low-frequency performance. As a result, the speakers produce deeper bass, stronger impact and clearer vocals.
The development team also worked with hip-hop creators Dot Da Genius, Daru Jones, Dready and Dennis “ROC.am” Jones. Their feedback helped refine the bass response, vocal clarity and overall sound impact.
Additionally, every model includes an ULT button with four listening modes. ULT1 enhances deep bass, while ULT2 increases power and sound pressure. In contrast, FLAT delivers a true-to-source sound profile. LIVE mode recreates the spacious atmosphere of a live performance while maintaining vocal clarity.
Users can also adjust the audio through Custom EQ in the Sound Connect app. Therefore, listeners can create a sound profile that matches their music and surroundings.
The ULT TOWER MAX uses two front woofers and one rear woofer. Its high-powered amplifier delivers up to 2,150 watts of output. Meanwhile, the ULT TOWER 7 produces up to 420 watts, and the ULT TOWER 5 reaches 300 watts.
Furthermore, ULT TOWER MAX and ULT TOWER 7 include 360° Party Sound. This technology spreads clear vocals and powerful bass throughout the room. On the MAX model, four tweeters, mid-range speakers and a rear woofer create immersive sound.
Enhanced Sound Field Optimization also analyses speaker placement and surrounding noise. It then balances the full frequency range for clearer and more consistent audio. Additionally, users can position the speakers vertically or horizontally.
Party, DJ and Karaoke Features
The lineup supports XLR, RCA and USB-C connections for parties and professional DJ setups. Moreover, users can pair compatible units in stereo for wider sound coverage.
Three lighting modes help match the atmosphere of each event. BEAT synchronizes energetic lighting with the music, while WAVE creates dynamic ambient effects. Meanwhile, MELLOW provides slower patterns for relaxed listening.
Karaoke users can connect the optional ULTMIC1 microphone for an optimized vocal experience. In addition, Party Chain uses Auracast broadcasting to connect compatible speakers. This feature synchronizes both music and lighting across multiple units.
The speakers also include improved carry handles for easier transportation. Furthermore, ULT TOWER MAX and ULT TOWER 7 feature wider wheel treads for movement across different surfaces.
ULT TOWER 7 and ULT TOWER 5 carry an IPX4 rating when positioned vertically. Therefore, users can operate them in suitable outdoor party settings. The ULT TOWER 7 provides up to 30 hours of battery life, while the TOWER 5 offers up to 20 hours.
Sustainability, Partnership and Pricing
The brand will support Red Bull Dance Your Style 2026 as an official wireless speaker partner. The partnership covers events such as the National Final USA in September and the World Final in Switzerland in October.
Additionally, recycled plastic accounts for around 35% of the plastic in the ULT TOWER MAX. The ULT TOWER 7 and ULT TOWER 5 each use approximately 20% recycled plastic.
All three speakers will become available in September 2026. The ULT TOWER MAX has a suggested retail price of €1,500. Meanwhile, the ULT TOWER 7 costs €600, and the ULT TOWER 5 costs €400.
