QSTP and Microsoft Expand Support for Qatar Startups

QSTP Microsoft Partnership Supporting Qatar Startups

Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP), a member of Qatar Foundation, has partnered with Microsoft to expand technology support for startups across Qatar. Announced on October 19, 2026, the collaboration integrates Microsoft for Startups into QSTP’s support ecosystem. It gives eligible founders access to cloud computing, AI tools, technical expertise, and market-access resources.

The partnership is already attracting participation from local technology companies. QSTP has nominated 105 startups for the programme, with 47 now actively participating. Moreover, active participation grew from 32 startups in August, indicating growing interest in the initiative.

Cloud and AI Resources for Emerging Businesses

Through Microsoft for Startups, eligible companies can access up to US$100,000 in Microsoft Azure credits. Depending on usage and eligibility, that amount can rise to US$200,000 over two years. These credits can help startups manage cloud infrastructure costs as they develop and test products.

Participating startups can also use Azure AI services to build and deploy AI-powered applications. The programme also includes GitHub Enterprise and Visual Studio Enterprise to help teams develop and manage software. Startups can also work directly with Microsoft Azure engineers for technical guidance and support.

The collaboration also offers go-to-market resources to help founders reach potential customers and investors. As a result, startups can receive support across several stages, from product development to commercial expansion.

Strengthening Qatar’s Startup Ecosystem

QSTP supports technology companies through early-stage validation, incubation, acceleration, product development, and investor readiness. Its startup community spans artificial intelligence, healthcare and biotechnology, fintech, sustainability, education, and cybersecurity. The Microsoft partnership builds on existing support by connecting local founders with enterprise-grade technology and international business resources.

Based on the 47 active startups, the potential combined value of available Azure credits ranges from US$4.7 million to US$9.4 million. However, this figure depends on usage and eligibility, and it does not represent guaranteed funding.

Engr. Ahmed Al-Said, QSTP’s Business Development Director, said the collaboration would give founders access to cloud and AI capabilities, technical guidance, and global market support. Meanwhile, Ahmad El Dandachi, General Manager of Microsoft Qatar, highlighted the importance of practical tools that help entrepreneurs build, test, and scale their products.

]The initiative also supports Qatar’s ambition to develop a diversified, knowledge-based economy. By linking startup incubation with Microsoft’s technology and commercial resources, the partnership aims to help homegrown businesses move from early development to deployment and growth.

Ultimately, the collaboration strengthens support for Qatar’s technology entrepreneurs. Its impact will depend on how effectively startups use these resources to develop products, attract customers, and compete in regional and international markets.
