Huawei Watch 6 Series Debuts With Advanced Health Features

Huawei Watch 6 Pro smartwatch

Huawei has officially unveiled the Watch 6 and Watch 6 Pro globally, expanding its premium smartwatch lineup with stronger health monitoring and brighter displays.

The new series focuses on health insights, fitness tracking, connectivity, and durability. Moreover, both models include ECG, X-TAP sensing, and sapphire-glass protection. However, the Watch 6 Pro adds higher-end materials and several exclusive features.

Brighter Displays and Premium Materials

The Watch 6 comes in 42 mm and 46 mm sizes. Meanwhile, the Watch 6 Pro is available in 43 mm and 46 mm versions. Huawei equips both models with LTPO 2.0 AMOLED displays and 466 × 466-pixel resolution.

The standard Watch 6 uses aluminum alloy or stainless steel, depending on the size. In contrast, the Pro model uses a ceramic-and-titanium construction. Both versions also feature sapphire glass for added scratch resistance.

The displays can reach up to 3,500 nits of peak brightness. Therefore, Huawei targets strong outdoor readability across the lineup. The company specifies 3,500 nits for both Watch 6 Pro sizes.

X-TAP Adds Deeper Health Tracking

Health monitoring represents a major focus of the new watches. Both models include heart rate, blood oxygen, body temperature, ECG, and X-TAP sensors. Furthermore, Huawei says X-TAP combines a 12-channel PPG sensor with a pressure sensor.

Users can press and hold X-TAP for three seconds to launch Health Glance. The system then produces a health snapshot within 60 seconds. In addition, Huawei says Health Glance can analyze up to 14 health metrics across four bodily systems.

The platform also provides physical-readiness and workout insights. However, Huawei notes that some health evaluation features are intended for reference and do not replace medical diagnosis.

For fitness users, the watches support more than 100 sport modes. Meanwhile, the Watch 6 Pro adds an Expedition mode for outdoor activities, including maps and waypoint marking.

Battery, Connectivity and Availability

Battery endurance varies by model and usage. The 43 mm Watch 6 Pro delivers up to three days in standard mode and seven days in battery-saver mode. Meanwhile, the 46 mm version reaches 4.5 days in standard mode and up to 11 days in battery-saver mode.

The watches also support eSIM connectivity, NFC, Bluetooth 5.2, and dual-band GNSS. Additionally, Huawei confirms compatibility with Android 9.0 or later and iOS 13.0 or later.

Huawei has set the Watch 6 launch price at £399.99 in the UK. The Watch 6 Pro starts at £599.99.

The launch strengthens Huawei’s position in the premium smartwatch segment. With brighter displays, expanded health sensing, and broader connectivity, the Watch 6 series targets users seeking a more comprehensive wearable platform.
