Instagram Launches Spin View and Multi-Cam Stories for Meta Glasses

MGX AI Fund Closure

Instagram has introduced two new Story creation formats exclusively for users of Meta’s AI-powered smart glasses. As a result, creators can now capture and share hands-free content in more immersive ways through Spin View and Multi-Cam Stories.

Spin View transforms traditional Stories into interactive experiences. When creators apply the feature to footage captured with Meta AI glasses, viewers can rotate their phones to explore the full scene from the creator’s perspective. Consequently, the wide-angle footage responds to device movement and creates a panoramic viewing experience.

Meanwhile, Multi-Cam Stories combines footage recorded simultaneously with a smartphone and Meta AI glasses into a single Story. The feature automatically syncs clips from both devices and displays two perspectives at the same time. Instagram describes the feature as ideal for situations such as “showing your hands at work via your glasses while you talk to the camera on your phone and giving your community a unique, synchronised view of your creative process”.

Editing Tools Enhance Glasses Content

Alongside the new Story formats, Instagram has added built-in editing tools for content captured with smart glasses. For example, the Expand tool lets users reframe wide-angle footage and highlight specific parts of a scene.

Additionally, Speed controls allow creators to slow down or speed up video playback. The platform also includes Audio tools that reduce background noise, improve voice clarity, and balance environmental sounds with voiceovers.

Supported Devices and Availability

The new features support photos and videos captured with Ray-Ban Meta, Oakley Meta, and the recently launched Meta Glasses. To use them, creators simply upload glasses-captured media through the standard Stories workflow, select content marked with the glasses icon, and tap the same icon in the editor to access the new tools.

Furthermore, the update follows the June 22 launch of Meta Glasses, which expanded the smart eyewear lineup to 26 styles across multiple frame designs.
