Acer Unveils Seven New Gaming Monitors With Up to 1,000Hz
Acer is expanding its gaming monitor lineup with seven new models under its Nitro and Predator families. The new displays target a wide range of gamers, from budget buyers to enthusiasts looking for extreme refresh rates and high resolutions.
Prices start at $299 and go up to $1,199. Meanwhile, the lineup includes tri-mode displays, QD-OLED technology, Mini LED backlighting, and refresh rates reaching 1,000Hz.
Nitro Lineup Brings Flexible Gaming Modes
The Nitro family gets four new monitors, starting with the $299 Nitro XV270U Z3. This 27-inch IPS display offers QHD resolution and a 275Hz refresh rate in its standard mode.
However, the monitor can switch between three different configurations. Users can run it at 1080p with a 360Hz refresh rate or drop to 720p for an impressive 520Hz. Therefore, gamers who prioritize frame rates can sacrifice resolution for much faster performance.
Next is the $329 Nitro XV275U Z2, another 27-inch IPS monitor with tri-mode functionality. However, this model adds 1,152-zone Mini LED backlighting for improved contrast and HDR performance.
The XV275U Z2 supports the same resolution and refresh-rate combinations as the XV270U Z3. Additionally, it delivers 500 nits of typical brightness and can reach 1,000 nits in HDR mode. Despite those upgrades, it costs only $30 more than the entry-level model.
The lineup then moves into higher-resolution territory with the $699 Nitro XZ340CKR P. This 34-inch IPS monitor features a 5120 x 2160 resolution and a 21:9 aspect ratio.
At its native resolution, the display reaches 180Hz. However, a dual-mode option lets users switch to WFHD resolution at 2560 x 1880 and push the refresh rate to 360Hz.
The fourth model, the Nitro XV275X P, takes things even further. It packs a 5120 x 2880 resolution into a 27-inch IPS panel, giving users an extremely high pixel density.
At its native resolution, the monitor reaches 165Hz. Meanwhile, switching to 2560 x 1440 allows the refresh rate to climb to 330Hz.
The display offers 450 nits of typical brightness and can reach 1,400 nits in HDR mode. However, this combination of resolution, brightness, and performance comes at a much higher price of $1,199.
More Options for Different Gaming Priorities
Acer’s new Nitro monitors show how varied the gaming display market has become. Instead of focusing on a single specification, the company is offering different combinations of resolution, refresh rate, brightness, and panel technology.
For competitive players, the high-refresh modes are likely to be the main attraction. The ability to switch from higher resolutions to lower resolutions at much faster refresh rates gives users more flexibility depending on the game.
Meanwhile, the Mini LED-equipped XV275U Z2 focuses more on HDR and image quality without moving far beyond the price of the standard model.
The higher-end Nitro models take a different approach. The XZ340CKR P combines an ultrawide 5K-class resolution with a 180Hz refresh rate, while the XV275X P targets users who want extremely sharp images from a compact 27-inch screen.
Together, these models give Acer’s gaming lineup options across several different price points and performance categories. The remaining new Predator models add even more high-end choices to the overall seven-monitor launch.
