Sennheiser Momentum 5 Headphones Launch With Better ANC and 57-Hour Battery
The premium wireless headphone market remains fiercely competitive. However, brands continue pushing innovation to stand out. Now, the latest Momentum 5 Wireless headphones arrive as an upgraded flagship option, focusing on sound quality, comfort, and smarter features.
The new model keeps the same 42mm transducers found in its predecessor. Moreover, those drivers draw inspiration from the acclaimed HD 600-series headphones, aiming to deliver rich detail, dynamic bass, and a spacious soundstage. The headphones also support Hi-Res Audio playback through advanced Bluetooth codecs including aptX Lossless, aptX Adaptive, and LDAC.
“With Momentum 5 Wireless, we focused on refining the entire experience without straying from the formula that made its predecessor such a success,” says product manager Sreenath ‘Sri’ Unnikrishnan. “These enhancements enrich the overall functionality while still capturing the magic you feel every time you press play.”
Users can further tailor the listening experience through the Smart Control Plus app. Additionally, the app includes an 8-band equalizer, custom presets, and intelligent sound personalization tools.
Stronger ANC, spatial audio and future-ready connectivity
The latest model significantly improves active noise cancellation. Notably, each earcup now houses four microphones, doubling the previous setup. As a result, the headphones better suppress continuous background sounds such as aircraft engines, road noise, and office chatter. Voice clarity during phone calls has also improved.
The headphones also introduce Dolby Atmos spatial audio with head-tracking support through a firmware update. Consequently, listeners can experience more immersive playback with compatible content.
Bluetooth 5.4 comes standard at launch. However, the internal hardware has been designed for a future Bluetooth 6.0 firmware upgrade, extending long-term usability.
Sustainability meets premium performance
The new headphones deliver up to 57 hours of battery life with ANC enabled. More importantly, the built-in 700mAh battery is user-replaceable using a small Phillips screwdriver, extending product lifespan.

Environmental improvements also include a smaller carry case and plastic-free packaging, which reduce shipping impact. Meanwhile, the package includes a USB-C charging cable and a 3.5mm audio cable for broader compatibility.
The Momentum 5 Wireless launches globally in multiple colour options, priced at $399.99 / £329.90 / €399.90.
