Bose is expanding its wraparound earbud lineup with two new models, the $199 Sport Open and $299 Ultra Open. Both feature a distinctive C-shaped “cuff” design that hugs the earlobe much like an earring.
Sport Open Targets Workouts
The Sport Open Earbuds feature a lightweight and dust-resistant design aimed at active users. In addition, they offer up to seven hours of battery life. The earbuds also include textured physical buttons, which should make controls easier to use during workouts.
Ultra Open Adds Longer Battery Life
Meanwhile, the new Ultra Open costs $299 and promises reduced audio lag. It also comes with a redesigned charging case that supports wireless charging. Moreover, the earbuds provide up to nine hours of battery life, giving them an advantage over the Sport Open in listening time.
Preorders Begin Sept. 19
Both models were introduced Thursday. However, customers will have to wait until Sept. 19 to preorder them. Shipments will then begin Oct. 1.
