ENOC and Pertamina Renew Aviation Services Agreement

ENOC Group has renewed its Aviation Technical Services Agreement with Indonesia’s PT Pertamina Patra Niaga for another three years. The agreement strengthens cooperation on aviation fuel safety, quality management and operational standards across Indonesia.

The renewal extends a relationship that began in 2009 and follows the technical services agreement signed in 2023. Under the renewed deal, ENOC will continue sharing technical expertise, supporting airport fuel facilities and helping Pertamina strengthen its operational capabilities.

Inspections, Training and Aviation Fuel Safety

ENOC will continue conducting annual inspections in line with Joint Inspection Group (JIG) standards. It will also provide technical guidance and operational support for aviation fuel facilities and aircraft refuelling operations. The agreement also covers specialised training and advisory services in fuel handling, safety and quality management.

During the initial three-year agreement, ENOC completed 18 inspections against JIG standards. Two inspections included Pertamina inspectors, helping them develop the qualifications needed to conduct inspections themselves. Furthermore, six Pertamina employees attended ENOC’s annual training courses in quality control and operational processes.

The collaboration also improved compliance at the assessed facilities. Notably, three of the five facilities evaluated showed significant progress against JIG standards. Therefore, the renewed agreement will build on these results through further knowledge transfer and stronger internal inspection capabilities.

Building Pertamina’s Technical Capabilities

Hussain Sultan Lootah, Group CEO of ENOC, said the partnership demonstrates how technical knowledge and workforce development can improve aviation fuel operations. He added that ENOC will continue supporting Indonesia’s aviation sector while extending its technical expertise into international markets.

Meanwhile, Yosep Iswadi, Vice President of Aviation Fuel Business at Pertamina Patra Niaga, said the agreement supports the company’s commitment to maintaining jet fuel quality and safety in line with international standards. The renewed cooperation will also help Pertamina develop its own inspection capabilities and technical workforce.

Expanding International Aviation Fuel Operations

ENOC brings experience across the aviation fuel supply chain, with operations spanning more than 300 airports in 28 countries across the Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia and Europe. Its capabilities cover procurement, shipping, refining, storage, distribution and aircraft refuelling services.

The company is also expanding its work in sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). For example, ENOC Aviation began supplying SAF to airline customers at Bali Airport in Indonesia in 2024. This activity complements its technical services partnership with Pertamina as the aviation industry explores lower-carbon fuel alternatives.

Ultimately, the three-year renewal aims to improve aviation fuel safety, strengthen technical skills and support consistent operating standards across Indonesian facilities. It also reinforces cooperation between UAE and Indonesian energy companies as both seek to develop more capable and resilient aviation fuel operations.
