Dubai Municipality Hosts Cybersecurity Week for Employees

Dubai Municipality Cybersecurity Week 2026 Event

Dubai Municipality is organising its first Cybersecurity Week from October 27 to 29, 2026, to strengthen employee awareness of digital threats and promote safer workplace practices. The three-day event takes place at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Dubai Deira Creek, during Global Cybersecurity Awareness Month.

The programme features expert discussions, practical workshops, interactive activities and a cybersecurity exhibition. In particular, sessions address phishing, fraudulent links, online impersonation and social engineering, which criminals use to access sensitive information and compromise digital systems.

The initiative aims to make information security part of employees’ everyday responsibilities. By improving their ability to recognise suspicious activity and respond appropriately, Dubai Municipality seeks to protect institutional data, digital infrastructure and the continuity of municipal services.

Cyber Maze and Practical Security Training

A central feature of the event is Cyber Maze, an interactive experience that tests employees’ cybersecurity knowledge through simulated scenarios. Participants can practise identifying suspicious activity and learn how to respond to potential attacks.

Meanwhile, specialised workshops examine emerging risks linked to artificial intelligence, digital identity protection and personal information security. These sessions provide practical guidance on handling sensitive data, spotting fraudulent communications and reducing exposure to cyber threats.

The accompanying exhibition showcases cybersecurity solutions, emerging technologies and industry best practices. It also gives employees opportunities to engage with specialists and learn approaches to strengthening digital security.

Government and Industry Experts Join Initiative

The event brings together government entities, academic institutions and private-sector cybersecurity specialists. Participating organisations include the UAE Cyber Security Council, Dubai Electronic Security Centre, Dubai Police and the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority.

Higher Colleges of Technology, the University of Dubai, Exploit3rs Cybersecurity Academy, Moro Hub and Help AG Middle East are also participating. Their involvement supports knowledge-sharing and discussions about evolving cyber risks and effective security practices.

Eng. Nasser Hassan, Manager of the Corporate Security Office at Dubai Municipality, said cybersecurity depends on every employee’s awareness and actions. He emphasised the need for staff to recognise threats, protect sensitive information and use digital systems responsibly.

The initiative forms part of Dubai Municipality’s broader efforts to strengthen its information security framework. Ultimately, the programme aims to build a more security-conscious workforce and support a safer digital environment for municipal operations and public services.
