AI Job Loss Fears Grip 67% of UAE Workers Despite Widespread Adoption

UAE Workers Concerned About AI Jobs
Artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming workplaces across the UAE, yet concerns about job security remain widespread. New research reveals that 85% of UAE employees already use AI at work. However, 67% fear the technology could eventually replace jobs.

Despite these concerns, many employees recognise AI’s benefits. Around 56% report improved productivity, while 54% say the technology has enhanced their work-life balance.

Nevertheless, the findings reveal a growing disconnect between AI adoption and employee confidence. Furthermore, limited communication from employers appears to contribute to uncertainty about future roles and career opportunities.

Only 6% of frontline employees believe their organisations communicate a clear AI strategy and provide regular updates. In contrast, 26% of executives express confidence in their companies’ AI communication efforts.

The research draws on responses from 5,285 participants across several survey waves, including an additional survey in April 2026. Most findings reflect surveys conducted during 2025.

AI Adoption Accelerates as Job Security Concerns Persist

AI adoption continues to expand across UAE workplaces, with employees increasingly integrating the technology into daily responsibilities. Consequently, organisations are experiencing productivity improvements and greater operational efficiency.

However, widespread adoption has not eliminated concerns about employment stability. In fact, 67% of workers remain worried that AI could replace existing roles.

Moreover, communication gaps between management and frontline employees have become increasingly apparent. While 26% of executives report receiving clear AI-related updates, only 6% of frontline workers share that view.

This disparity suggests that organisations must improve transparency around technological changes. Additionally, employees need clearer information about future responsibilities, training opportunities and career progression.

Meanwhile, workplace satisfaction remains relatively strong across the UAE. Approximately 75% of employees report satisfaction with their jobs, compared with 66% globally.

However, only 25% say they feel genuinely fulfilled at work. Therefore, high satisfaction levels do not necessarily indicate meaningful career engagement.

Among Generation Z employees, professional advancement remains a major priority. Around 60% favour career acceleration and financial independence over work-life balance.

Furthermore, 73% express confidence in their company’s future. Younger workers also value direct communication with managers and senior leaders.

Consequently, employers face growing expectations to provide regular feedback, professional development and visible career opportunities.

UAE Residents Increasingly Use AI for Healthcare and Investments

Beyond professional environments, AI is becoming increasingly important in everyday decision-making across the UAE.

According to the findings, 80% of UAE respondents have used AI for healthcare-related purposes. In comparison, the global figure stands at 65%.

Additionally, AI is influencing how residents approach financial planning and investment decisions.

Among lower-income respondents, 64% use AI to guide investment decisions. Meanwhile, 65% of higher-income respondents report similar behaviour.

Stock market participation also remains relatively high among lower-income UAE residents. Approximately 48% invest in shares, compared with 28% globally.

Furthermore, financial success appears to influence personal expectations. Around 40% of UAE respondents feel pressure to earn money to demonstrate success, compared with 33% worldwide.

These findings highlight the growing influence of digital technologies on personal finance, healthcare and everyday choices.

However, greater AI adoption also reinforces the importance of digital literacy and informed decision-making. Consequently, users must understand the limitations of automated recommendations, particularly in healthcare and financial matters.

AI Reshapes Consumer Expectations and Brand Loyalty in the UAE

AI adoption is also transforming consumer behaviour, particularly in shopping experiences and brand engagement.

The research indicates that only 35% of UAE consumers expect to remain loyal to a brand over time. By comparison, 47% of global respondents express similar loyalty.

Meanwhile, 71% of UAE consumers expect businesses to remember their preferences and previous purchases. Additionally, 78% have already used AI to discover and purchase products.

Consequently, companies face increasing pressure to deliver personalised experiences while maintaining consistent service quality.

Furthermore, consumers can compare alternatives more easily through AI-powered platforms. As a result, businesses must work harder to maintain customer relationships and encourage repeat purchases.

Overall, the findings demonstrate AI’s expanding influence across employment, healthcare, investment and consumer behaviour in the UAE.

However, rapid technological adoption alone cannot guarantee employee confidence or customer loyalty. Instead, organisations must combine innovation with transparent communication, workforce development and reliable customer experiences.

As AI continues to reshape the UAE economy, businesses that address these expectations could strengthen employee engagement and customer trust.

The findings form part of a five-year international research programme involving nearly 300,000 respondents across 20 markets.
