RAKTDA and Huawei Expand Tourism Partnership Through New MoU

Tourism partnership agreement signing

The Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority (RAKTDA) and Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding during the Huawei Developer Conference 2026. Through this agreement, both organizations aim to strengthen cooperation in destination marketing, digital content creation, and tourism innovation.

Moreover, the new framework builds on a partnership that began in 2024. As a result, both sides plan to increase destination visibility, improve traveler engagement, and support tourism growth through technology-driven initiatives.

Enhancing Destination Marketing and Digital Content

Under the agreement, the organizations will explore new opportunities to develop destination content across Huawei’s digital ecosystem. These efforts will include platforms such as Petal Maps, Huawei Themes, and other consumer-facing channels.

In addition, the partnership will support marketing campaigns designed to raise awareness of Ras Al Khaimah among international travelers. Therefore, both parties will focus on content collaborations, influencer engagement programs, and destination storytelling tailored to specific traveler segments.

Furthermore, the organizations will assess how Huawei’s marketing, advertising, and consumer insight capabilities can strengthen destination campaigns. Particular attention will focus on engaging Chinese outbound travelers through more personalized and targeted communications.

Supporting Tourism Innovation and Growth

The agreement also outlines potential collaboration on tourism events, consumer engagement initiatives, and developer-focused activities. Consequently, both organizations aim to create experiences that combine technology, travel, and destination discovery.

Phillipa Harrison, CEO – RAKTDA, said:

“Technology and innovation play an increasingly important role in how travellers discover, plan and experience destinations. Our collaboration with Huawei Mobile Services has helped us connect with new audiences through innovative digital channels, particularly within the Chinese market. This agreement provides a framework to further strengthen destination visibility, enhance traveller engagement and support Ras Al Khaimah’s continued growth.”
