Jeff Bezos’ Prometheus Hits $41 Billion Valuation After $12 Billion Raise

Bezos unveils industrial AI platform

Jeff Bezos and co-CEO Vik Bajaj announced on Thursday that their industrial AI startup, Project Prometheus, has secured $12 billion in Series B funding. As a result, the company now carries a valuation of approximately $41 billion, making it one of the largest and fastest fundraising rounds in startup history.

Prometheus emerged from stealth after months of speculation and immediately attracted attention across the technology sector. Moreover, the latest investment brings the company’s total funding to $18.2 billion since its launch in November 2025.

Building an ‘Artificial General Engineer’

Prometheus is developing what Bezos describes as an “artificial general engineer” — AI systems designed to speed up the design and manufacturing of complex physical products. These products include jet engines, medical devices, and consumer electronics.

“We’re creating tools that will simplify the process for engineers to design physical objects,” Bezos said in an exclusive interview, likening the system to “a very, very modern version” of computer-aided design software while cautioning that he was “really oversimplifying.”

The funding round attracted support from major investors, including JPMorgan, BlackRock, Goldman Sachs, DST Global, and Arch Venture Partners. Additionally, Bezos served as the largest individual investor in the company.

From Stealth Startup to Industrial AI Powerhouse

Prometheus launched in November 2025 with an initial $6.2 billion funding round. At the time, industry observers widely speculated that the company was developing robotics technologies. However, Bezos repeatedly rejected that characterization.

“We have nothing to do with robotics,” Bezos said in a May interview, describing instead a focus on “AI for the physical economy.”

Today, the company operates from offices in San Francisco, London, and Zurich. Furthermore, it has recruited roughly 120 employees from leading AI organizations, including OpenAI, DeepMind, and Meta.

Expanding Beyond Software

Beyond Prometheus, Bezos is reportedly exploring broader industrial opportunities. According to reports, he has held preliminary discussions with investors in the Middle East and Southeast Asia about raising up to $100 billion for a separate acquisition-focused fund.

The proposed fund would target industrial companies that could benefit from Prometheus’s technology. Consequently, the strategy could accelerate adoption of AI-powered engineering tools across multiple sectors.

The tools Prometheus is building “will help companies like Blue immensely,” Bezos said, referring to his space venture, Blue Origin.
