Google Launches Dreambeans AI for Personalized Daily Stories

Google Dreambeans AI story app

Google Labs has launched Dreambeans, an experimental mobile app that transforms a user’s digital activity into personalized, AI-generated stories each morning. The app is currently available on Android and iOS for eligible Google AI Ultra subscribers aged 18 and older in the United States. Meanwhile, users with a personal Google account can join a waitlist for access.

How Dreambeans Creates Daily Inspiration

Dreambeans uses the same Personal Intelligence technology that powers Gemini and AI Mode. As a result, it gathers context from connected services such as Gmail, Calendar, Photos, YouTube, and Search during the night. It then turns that information into a curated collection of stories designed to inspire users with new ideas.

According to product lead Gozde Oznur, the app can suggest places to visit, topics to explore, activities to try, upcoming trips, and events worth noting. However, the recommendations depend on the data users choose to share.

Each story also includes AI-generated illustrations created with the Nano Banana 2 model. Furthermore, users who enable Face Grouping in Google Photos can see themselves, family members, or even pets incorporated into story visuals instead of generic characters.

“The dream part is literal, because while you sleep, the app is working through everything across your connected apps,” Oznur said. “It has processed everything overnight and hands you a concentrated drop of inspiration in the morning.”

A Limited Daily Feed Instead of Endless Scrolling

Unlike traditional social media platforms, Dreambeans intentionally limits content. Users receive approximately 10 to 14 stories per day, and each story takes about 30 seconds to read.

Oznur explained that the restriction serves a purpose. “The idea is to get a few inspirational ideas and then go out and live your life.”

The company also emphasizes privacy. Only the individual user can view their stories, and users can disconnect services or delete their data whenever they choose.

The launch comes shortly after a series of major AI announcements at the company’s I/O 2026 event. During the event, it introduced the Gemini Omni model and unveiled a redesigned Search experience.
