Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates have signed an agreement to improve government services through knowledge exchange and advanced technologies. The partnership highlights digital innovation as a driver for governance, public service delivery, and human capital development. Cooperation focuses on five areas: fostering innovation, enhancing competitiveness, improving government performance, upgrading service delivery, and accelerating technology adoption.
A flagship initiative is the training of 10 million coders in Indonesia over the next three years with UAE support. This program aims to equip young people with vital skills in software development, programming, and artificial intelligence. Therefore, it prepares future generations to actively participate in digital economies while building resilience in the job market.
Broader Areas of Cooperation
The partnership follows a recent visit by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto to the UAE, where both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to expand cooperation in technology, innovation, and human capital. Beyond digital governance, the collaboration also extends to food security. Indonesia is seeking UAE support to boost agricultural productivity and secure greater access to global markets for local products.
Additionally, Indonesia’s Supreme Audit Board and the UAE Accountability Authority agreed to strengthen cooperation in auditing, anti-corruption measures, IT oversight, and capacity building. These steps reinforce transparency and accountability across governance frameworks.
Shared Vision for Future Growth
This comprehensive partnership reflects a shared vision for sustainable and inclusive growth. By aligning initiatives across digital transformation, innovation, food security, and governance, both countries aim to foster resilience and readiness for the future. Moreover, the agreement positions Indonesia and the UAE as leaders in technology-driven cooperation, showcasing their commitment to shaping a globally competitive digital ecosystem.
