Zain Saudi Arabia has signed an MoU with Cisco to enhance digitalization efforts

Zain KSA, a leading digital service provider in Saudi Arabia, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Cisco at the Mobile World Congress (MWC23) in Barcelona to collaborate on developing network automation and service orchestration, which will improve network service outcomes. The main objective of the MoU is to simplify day-to-day network operations, including maintenance, monitoring, and optimization, with sophisticated automation tools, supporting the Kingdom’s digital transformation and enabling the community to enjoy a smarter mobile lifestyle. Additionally, Zain KSA aims to be the preferred digital partner for its clients, including individuals and the business sector.

The collaboration between Zain KSA and Cisco will lead to the development of an automation blueprint, which is aimed at keeping pace with the rapid expansion of 5G technologies and the significant increase in networked devices and content services. By simplifying operations, the collaboration will enable Zain KSA to improve the quality of its services and continue to deliver a superior customer experience over broadband through reliable and high-speed connectivity.

According to Zain KSA’s Chief Technology Officer, Eng Abdulrahman Al-Mufadda, the collaboration with Cisco is a significant step towards accelerating the digital transformation journey and achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030. He further added that the MoU is in line with their strategy to innovate, deliver integrated digital experiences to customers, and enhance their experiences across the Kingdom.

Cisco’s Vice President, Service Provider EMEA, Adam MacHale, believes that Cisco’s model-driven approach to network automation with open APIs and service orchestration will help Zain KSA simplify operations and deliver services more quickly across the entire lifecycle, improving the quality of its services and customer experience.
