OTC and Kaspersky Expand Oman Cybersecurity Services
OTC, the technology arm of Omantel, has partnered with Kaspersky to provide locally hosted and managed cybersecurity services in Oman.
Under the agreement, Kaspersky’s cybersecurity solutions will run from an OTC data centre in Oman. Meanwhile, OTC will provide local technical support and security management through its cybersecurity operations team.
Local Hosting Supports Data Sovereignty
The partnership focuses on keeping cybersecurity data within Oman. This allows organisations to access security services through local infrastructure while meeting data sovereignty requirements.
OTC will combine Kaspersky’s cybersecurity technologies with its own data centre and security operations capabilities. In addition, the company will provide around-the-clock monitoring and management for customers using the services.
The arrangement will also bring Kaspersky’s security solutions to more organisations in Oman. As a result, businesses can access detection and response capabilities supported by local infrastructure.
Abdullah bin Nabil Al-Ghasani, Head of the Cyber Security Operations Centre at OTC, said the growth of digital services in Oman has increased demand for locally hosted and managed cybersecurity services.
According to Al-Ghasani, the partnership combines Kaspersky’s technology with OTC’s local infrastructure and cybersecurity expertise. He also said the model can help organisations keep their security data within the Sultanate.
OTC Expands Managed Cybersecurity Services
The agreement adds Kaspersky’s cybersecurity technologies to OTC’s existing portfolio of locally hosted services. Meanwhile, OTC will provide the infrastructure and operational support needed to deliver those solutions in Oman.
Rashid Al-Momani, General Manager of Kaspersky Middle East, said organisations increasingly seek cybersecurity services that include local infrastructure and technical support. He also pointed to data sovereignty as an important customer requirement.
Kaspersky’s solutions will therefore operate within an Omani hosting environment. At the same time, customers will receive support from OTC’s security operations team.
The partnership also gives Kaspersky a local delivery and support model for its cybersecurity technologies. For OTC, it expands the range of security solutions available through its domestic infrastructure.
Partnership Aligns With Oman’s Digital Growth
Oman has continued expanding digital services across government and business sectors. As a result, organisations face growing requirements for cybersecurity, data protection, and locally managed technology infrastructure.
The OTC and Kaspersky arrangement addresses those requirements through local hosting and operational support. The model also lets organisations access security capabilities without moving security data outside Oman.
The partnership also supports the broader focus on digital infrastructure and technology development under Oman Vision 2040, OTC said.
For customers, the immediate focus will remain on locally hosted cybersecurity services, technical support, and security operations. However, the announcement does not specify the number of customers, deployment timelines, or the agreement’s financial terms.
As the partnership develops, OTC and Kaspersky will provide cybersecurity capabilities through Oman-based infrastructure. The agreement therefore adds another locally managed option for organisations seeking cybersecurity and data sovereignty services in the country.
