The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) of the UAE has entered into a partnership with global technology company SAP to collaborate on advancing the FTA’s position in the international tax sector. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by the two entities highlights FTA’s commitment to achieving sustainable financial diversification, leading digital transformation efforts, and implementing innovation and smart technology plans. The agreement aims to upgrade and develop the FTA’s basic operations, introduce new digital services, and launch initiatives like artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to anticipate the future of the tax field and achieve global leadership in tax procedures.
The FTA considers this partnership to be a crucial step towards proactively upgrading tax procedures in the UAE, promoting a culture of future planning, and developing digital tax services in collaboration with experts in the government and private sectors. The FTA plans to work closely with stakeholders in the tax, business, and technology sectors to become a world-leading tax authority, address developments in the business and services sectors, and use the latest technological solutions to seize promising opportunities.
As part of the partnership, the FTA and SAP will organise workshops, awareness sessions, and technical presentations, focusing on design thinking and innovation. These events will bring together all relevant business and technology sectors to enhance development efforts.
A joint panel discussion was held at SAP’s headquarters in Dubai, where attendees discussed digital solutions that could improve quality and efficiency in tax management and collection, facilitate compliance with tax obligations, and ensure maximum transparency. The MoU with SAP provides an effective framework for cooperation with SAP towards enhancing development efforts.
