e& UAE Unveils U6GHz Network Delivering 10 Gbps Connectivity
The UAE has introduced a commercial mobile network based on Upper 6GHz (U6GHz) 256TRX Giga-MIMO technology. The launch strengthens 5G-Advanced capabilities and supports the country’s transition toward future 6G networks.
Additionally, the deployment aligns with the national 6G roadmap led by the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority. It also prepares the telecommunications sector for next-generation connectivity before global 6G standards are established.
Furthermore, the U6GHz network operates on an existing 5.5G foundation and enables commercial use of the Golden 6GHz Band. As a result, it supports long-term network development toward IMT-2030 and 6G technologies.
U6GHz network delivers higher speeds and capacity
The network operates across the 6425–6775 MHz U6GHz spectrum range, offering up to 350 MHz of continuous bandwidth. Moreover, it uses 256TRX Giga-MIMO technology to increase antenna capacity at each site compared with conventional 64TRX 5G deployments.
The technology improves network capacity, dynamic beamforming and interference management in densely populated urban areas. Therefore, users can experience more reliable service quality in locations with high connectivity demand.
The network can provide single-user peak speeds of up to 10 Gbps on the downlink. Meanwhile, uplink speeds can reach 1 Gbps, delivering broadband-level wireless performance.
In addition, advanced beamforming addresses propagation challenges linked to higher-frequency spectrum. The system can achieve coverage comparable to existing 3.5 GHz C-band infrastructure while supporting increased data requirements.
