Egypt-based healthcare supply chain solutions startup, Platform One, has been acquired by US-based and MENA-servicing B2B healthcare marketplace, Aumet, for an undisclosed amount. The deal looks to enable Aumet’s entry into the Egyptian marketplace, giving them access to Platform One’s network of users, while Platform One leads Aumet’s operation in Egypt.
“Egypt is a crucial market for us, and Platform One has already set the building blocks for what’s next to come,” Yahya Aqel, CEO of Aumet, says. “The synergies that resonated between Aumet and Platform One were clear from the initial phases of interaction as both Companies are tech-focused digital solutions providers for the healthcare industry.”
Platform One currently works with over 600 pharmacies and 150 suppliers. With Aumet further connecting pharmacies with suppliers across the MENA region, Platform One will soon join its network of 5,000 pharmacies, while gaining full access to Aumet’s product suite, including Aumet MarketPlace, an app through which pharmacies can connect with suppliers, Aumet Pharmacy, an inventory management software solution, and Aumet Pay, a payment gateway.
