Bank of Sharjah has formed a strategic partnership with Emirates Face Recognition (EFR) to enhance digital banking services and customer security. The collaboration aims to simplify banking processes through advanced facial recognition, biometric verification, and digital technologies.

Furthermore, the partnership supports the bank’s digital transformation strategy while delivering faster, safer, and more convenient customer experiences.

The agreement was signed during AI Everything Abu Dhabi. Sridhar Karlapudi, COO of Bank of Sharjah, and Zack Charkas, CEO of Emirates Face Recognition, attended the ceremony. Senior executives from both organizations also participated.

Facial Recognition Technology to Simplify Banking

Through EFR’s biometric technology, Bank of Sharjah aims to streamline customer identification and verification. As a result, customers can access essential banking services with improved security and fewer procedural delays.

The bank has already introduced EFR-powered facial authentication for fund transfers. Moreover, it plans to expand the technology across additional banking services as customer adoption continues to grow.

The partnership will also support improvements to the bank’s upcoming Mobile Banking App and online banking experience. These developments will focus on instant account opening, digital services, and automated Know Your Customer (KYC) updates.

Consequently, customers will gain greater flexibility when completing banking transactions remotely. Additionally, digital verification will reduce the need for physical branch visits while improving operational efficiency.

The collaboration builds on EFR’s experience in providing authentication, digital onboarding, and verification solutions to financial institutions and other organizations.
