University of Doha for Science and Technology signed a Technology Support Contract with Be My Sense, a startup launched through its UHUB incubation center. As a result, the agreement strengthens support for student-led innovation and entrepreneurship. Moreover, it reflects the university’s focus on advancing practical solutions from academic environments.
Be My Sense was developed by students Mohamed Ali and Ahmed El Abed under faculty mentorship. In addition, the project evolved from an academic initiative into a scalable technology solution. Consequently, the collaboration provides a structured path for continued development and commercialization.
From Award-Winning Concept to Real-World Solution
The startup builds on a project that earned global recognition at the Huawei ICT Competition 2024–2025. Furthermore, the team secured second place in the Innovation Track while representing Qatar. As a result, the achievement highlights both technical capability and global competitiveness.
The platform uses artificial intelligence to support deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals. Specifically, it delivers real-time translation, smart wearable integration, and digital assistance tools. Therefore, the solution addresses communication barriers across education, workplaces, and public services.
Scaling Impact Through Institutional Support
The contract establishes a framework to support growth, scalability, and market readiness. At the same time, it reinforces the university’s role in building a strong innovation ecosystem. Consequently, students gain opportunities to translate academic knowledge into applied technologies.
Through initiatives like UHUB, the institution continues to provide mentorship and technical resources. As a result, startups can refine their products and expand their reach. Ultimately, the collaboration positions Be My Sense to deliver broader social impact while advancing accessibility-focused innovation.
