Announced at CES 2022 and available in May, Lenovo’s ThinkBook Plus Gen 3 uses a 17.3-inch 21:10 screen and an 8-inch touchscreen. Lenovo is targeting businesses in the creative field and SMEs.
The return of the ultrawide
The ThinkBook Plus Gen 3’s ultrawide screen has 3072 x 1440 resolution, at a120 Hz refresh rate, with up to 400 nits of brightness, and a 100 percent DCI-P3 color claim, making it suited to creative work. The wider screen will make pinning windows more user-friendly and will take advantage of Windows 11’s new productivity features. Thanks to a minimal, thin design, the laptop is only 16.14 inches wide, despite the addition of a secondary touchscreen.
LCD touchscreen
The 8-inch touchscreen on the right side of the keyboard will allow users additional screen real estate and can be used with a stylus. The 800 x 1280 LCD could potentially be used to run calculator, notepad, and calendar programs, or to display a live feed or Photoshop shortcuts. The screen can also be used to mirror the user’s smartphone screen.
Lenovo’s ThinkBook Plus Gen 3 houses a 12th Gen Intel Core I-series CPU, 32GB of dual-channel LPDDR5 RAM, and 2TB of PCIe 4.0 SSD storage. In terms of connectivity, the laptop features USB-C ports, including one Thunderbolt 4, two USB-A ports, an HDMI port, and an audio jack.
The laptop will be priced at USD 1,399 and will be available in May.
Lenovo recently launched the portable ThinkVision monitor aimed at hybrid workers.
