Google AI Plus Now Costs $4.99 With Double the Storage

Google AI Plus pricing update

Google has reduced the cost of its entry-level AI subscription, making premium AI tools more accessible to a wider audience. The AI Plus plan now costs $4.99 per month instead of $7.99, while the included cloud storage has increased from 200GB to 400GB.

Additionally, existing subscribers will receive the expanded storage over the coming days. The lower pricing will apply at their next billing cycle. The change also extends to other markets through local pricing adjustments.

The plan already includes access to Gemini 3.1 Pro, Deep Research, NotebookLM, and family-sharing benefits for up to five members. Moreover, subscribers now gain access to newer features introduced at the developer conference in May. These include Daily Brief, which reviews inbox activity, calendar events, and tasks overnight to create a prioritized morning summary. The subscription also includes Gemini Omni Flash, a video-generation tool.

New Features Expand the Offering

The company refreshed its AI subscription lineup during its developer conference in May. At that event, it introduced a new AI Ultra tier priced at $99.99 per month. At the same time, it lowered the cost of its highest-tier plan from $250 to $200.

Meanwhile, AI Plus remained at $7.99, the price established when the subscription expanded across the United States and 35 additional markets earlier this year. However, the latest reduction significantly improves its value proposition.

One of the conference’s major announcements was Gemini Omni, a multimodal AI model that can generate video from text, images, audio, and video inputs. The model combines advanced reasoning capabilities with an understanding of physical interactions. Shortly after the event, Omni Flash became available to AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers through the Gemini app and Google Flow.

Lower Price Targets More Users

The revised pricing aims to attract users seeking AI-powered tools alongside practical cloud storage benefits. As a result, the entry-level subscription now costs nearly 40% less than its original U.S. launch price while providing twice the storage capacity.

Furthermore, the update strengthens the competitiveness of the plan in an increasingly crowded AI subscription market. Users who previously hesitated because of recurring costs may now find the offering more appealing.

For those who need additional storage, a separate $9.99 subscription option with 2TB of cloud storage remains available.
