Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy lures 30 tech startups to Dubai in Q1 2023

During the first quarter of 2023, the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, operating under Dubai Chambers, achieved significant milestones in line with its commitment to boost the digital economy in Dubai. The chamber collaborated with government entities to attract 30 promising tech startups to the emirate, bolstering its appeal to technology investors and supporting the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.

In addition, the chamber launched an initiative to strengthen communication with key stakeholders in the digital business community. It organized a series of 10 interactive workshops focused on specific sectors of the digital economy, addressing challenges and facilitating the development of solutions to enhance performance and competitiveness for participating companies.

Omar Sultan Al Olama, Chairman of the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy and Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, emphasized the chamber’s dedication to realizing the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, to establish the emirate as a global hub for the digital economy. Al Olama highlighted the private sector’s crucial role in achieving this objective and expressed the importance of constructive dialogue with Dubai’s digital business community to identify opportunities, challenges, and recommendations.

The interactive workshops covered various sectors of the digital economy, including 3D printing, social media, venture capital, e-commerce, video games, fintech, the metaverse, cryptocurrencies, health tech, artificial intelligence, and software development.

Looking ahead, the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy aims to support Dubai’s digital transformation and strengthen its position as a global capital of the digital economy. With an ambitious strategy, the chamber plans to attract 300 new digital startups in the coming years. As part of these efforts, the Expand North Star Summit, scheduled for October, will serve as a significant event to showcase growth opportunities in Dubai’s digital economy and act as a catalyst for expanding the future of the digital ecosystem.
