Ooredoo Kuwait has partnered with Weyay Bank to launch a dedicated digital store within the bank’s mobile application. The initiative brings telecommunications services, smartphones, and connected devices into a single banking platform.
The collaboration aims to simplify how customers access mobile plans and technology products. Moreover, it strengthens the integration of digital banking and telecommunications services for younger consumers in Kuwait.
The store is now available through the Weyay application. Customers can browse selected Ooredoo products, purchase smartphones, and subscribe to eligible Shababi plans without switching platforms.
Smartphones, Devices and Shababi Plans Available
The new digital store lets Weyay customers explore and buy a range of smartphones and smart devices directly through the banking app.
The available products include the iPhone 18 and Apple Watch. Customers can also access Ooredoo’s Shababi subscription plans, which target younger users and their connectivity needs.
The integration also simplifies subscription management. Eligible customers can complete purchases through the banking application and use automated monthly payments for greater convenience.
The arrangement also brings device purchases and telecommunications subscriptions into a single digital environment. This reduces the need to navigate separate applications for related services.
Partnership Connects Digital Banking and Telecommunications
The collaboration combines Weyay’s digital banking infrastructure with Ooredoo’s telecommunications network and product portfolio.
For Weyay, the integration expands the services available through its banking application. Meanwhile, Ooredoo gains another digital sales channel, reaching customers through a platform they already use for everyday financial activities.
The partnership also builds on an earlier strategic collaboration announced in September 2026. That agreement introduced exclusive Ooredoo offers for Weyay customers, particularly university students.
Under the earlier arrangement, eligible Student Allowance customers could receive 30% cashback when paying for Ooredoo services using their Weyay SELECT Card. The companies also introduced exclusive offers on Shababi plans and priority access to selected device launches.
The latest digital store expands this relationship by giving customers direct access to telecommunications products and services. As a result, both companies are moving toward a more integrated digital ecosystem.
For Ooredoo Kuwait, the initiative supports its digital-first strategy and efforts to expand beyond conventional telecommunications sales channels. Similarly, Weyay continues to broaden its mobile banking proposition through partnerships with technology and service providers.
As banking, connectivity and digital commerce increasingly overlap, the collaboration illustrates how cross-sector partnerships can simplify everyday transactions. It also supports Kuwait’s wider digital economy ambitions by bringing essential services together through mobile platforms.
