Digital Dubai Expands AI Skills Across Government
Digital Dubai has held a two-day AI+ workshop involving strategy department employees from 55 Dubai government entities. The latest training forms part of Dubai’s wider push to build practical artificial intelligence capabilities across the public sector.
AI+ Workshop Targets Government Strategy Teams
During the workshop, participants explored practical ways to use AI in strategic government work. In addition, they developed more than 100 AI tools focused on workflow automation, decision-making and government service improvements.
The training was conducted in collaboration with the Dubai Government Human Resources Department and the Dubai Center for Artificial Intelligence Applications. Therefore, the workshop connects workforce development with Dubai’s broader government AI adoption efforts.
The latest course also shows how the AI+ program is moving beyond general awareness. Instead, it gives government teams hands-on experience with AI applications linked to their daily responsibilities.
Program Aims to Train 50,000 Employees
Digital Dubai launched the AI Workforce Transformation Program, known as AI+, in April 2026. The program aims to train 50,000 Dubai Government employees and equip them with practical skills for adopting AI in government services and institutional processes.
Furthermore, the program provides different learning tracks based on employees’ roles. These include leadership, Chief AI Officers, product and service owners, department and section managers, and general employees.
The employee track covers areas such as prompt engineering, AI agent task automation, and productivity tools. Meanwhile, managers receive guidance on identifying AI use cases, allocating resources and improving services.
Dubai Pushes Practical AI Adoption
Digital Dubai has also developed a broader framework for integrating AI across government entities. In April, it introduced the AI Integration Matrix Framework to help entities move from isolated AI projects toward coordinated adoption.
The framework had already guided the deployment of more than 100 AI systems within Digital Dubai. Consequently, the government body is combining workforce training with structured approaches to AI implementation.
The 55-entity workshop therefore represents another step in Dubai’s effort to build institutional AI capability. Moreover, the development of more than 100 tools during the course shows the program’s focus on practical applications rather than classroom-based learning alone.
