Gamma announced a $68 million Series B round at a $2.1 billion valuation, marking a major moment for the AI presentation and content-creation startup. Although the company has been around since 2020, it experienced sharp momentum after its product launch in 2022. Co-founder and CEO Grant Lee shared on X that the company has profitably reached $100 million in ARR and now serves 70 million users. He also said the startup reached $50 million profitably within its first two years, which underscores its early traction.
Lean Team, Strong Trajectory
While many AI companies raise aggressively, Gamma chose a slower path that ultimately strengthened its position. Because the company limited outside funding, it achieved its double-unicorn valuation on roughly $90 million raised to date. Lee noted that the company accomplished this milestone with only about 50 employees. The latest round included a $20 million secondary component that offered liquidity to early employees, which often helps retain key talent as a company scales.
Investors and Momentum
The new funding was led by Andreessen Horowitz and included participation from Accel and Uncork Capital. Additionally, Gamma’s list of existing backers features South Park Commons, Hustle Fund, and several others. Since the company last raised a $12 million Series A in 2024, it has continued to expand its product reach. As a result, interest from both investors and users has accelerated.
