MoI, Dubai Police, Visa Partner to Strengthen Fraud Prevention in UAE

The Ministry of Interior, Dubai Police, and Visa have launched a national campaign called “Don’t Talk to Strangers Has No Age Limit.” The initiative aims to empower communities across the UAE to protect themselves from fraud and electronic crime. By combining public and private sector expertise, the campaign emphasizes stronger digital literacy, vigilance, and proactive steps to secure online spaces.

Brigadier Abdul Aziz Abdullah Al-Ahmad, Deputy Director General of the Federal Criminal Police, highlighted the importance of community partnerships. He explained that safeguarding the digital world requires collective responsibility. He added that the new campaign intends to equip individuals with the tools and knowledge to confront fraud and e-crimes.

Salima Gutieva, Visa’s Vice President and Country Manager for UAE, expressed pride in supporting the effort. She stressed that as scams grow more sophisticated, knowledge remains the first line of defense. She also noted that the initiative aligns with the UAE’s vision for a secure, resilient, and inclusive digital economy.

Creative Approach to Digital Safety

The awareness drive takes a 360-degree approach across social media and outdoor platforms. Campaign content uses humor, with children reminding parents to stay safe online. By flipping the traditional parent–child dynamic, the message reinforces that fraud prevention applies to all generations.

In addition, a tailored strategy targets different nationality groups. Educational content addresses the most relevant fraud types within each community. This approach ensures messages resonate effectively with diverse audiences across the UAE.

Findings from the ninth annual Stay Secure study were a key foundation for the campaign. The research showed that while many UAE consumers are taking stronger measures to protect digital transactions, a considerable number still remain at risk of fraud attempts.

Expanding Awareness and Strengthening Protection

Beyond digital platforms, the program will also reach communities directly. In cooperation with police headquarters nationwide, organizers plan in-person educational sessions in schools and among blue-collar workers. These efforts aim to deepen fraud prevention awareness and ensure broader access to practical safety guidance.

Recent results demonstrate the scale of the challenge and the value of strong safeguards. Last year, Visa reported blocking $40 billion worth of fraudulent payment value and preventing 80 million fraudulent transactions. These figures underscore the ongoing importance of AI-powered prevention systems and global consumer protection.
