The Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB) has launched the ‘COMMS’ program as part of the pre-forum activities for the 14th International Government Communication Forum (IGCF), under the theme ‘Communication for Quality of Life.’ Scheduled from September 1 to 4 at Al Majaz Amphitheatre, the program offers four interactive workshops designed for students, graduates, and professionals in media and communication.

Developed in collaboration with universities across the UAE, the initiative combines academic knowledge with hands-on professional training. Participants will gain insight into modern media practices, integrate professional ethics, and explore innovative communication tools, particularly artificial intelligence (AI).

Interactive Workshops and AI Applications

The September 1 session focuses on specialized media content using AI technologies and generative AI tools to reach audiences. It covers content creation, personalization, automated audience targeting, prompt engineering, and managing AI tools to produce diverse media outputs. Participants also explore AI applications in professional workplaces, enhancing productivity and efficiency.

On September 2, the workshop highlights principles of media coverage for government events. It emphasizes accurate, speedy, and clear reporting while providing operational guidance for event coverage. These skills enable participants to handle media responsibilities effectively in real-world scenarios.

The third session, on September 3, centers on analyzing social media performance using AI. Participants learn to optimize digital platform performance with analytics tools and precise AI prompts to generate actionable insights. The workshop also integrates practical applications from professional experience.

Additionally, the session explores virtual presenters for audience engagement and managing government messages during campaigns and crises.

As one of IGCF’s most prominent pre-forum initiatives, the COMMS program fosters an interactive learning environment. By combining digital content creation, event coverage techniques, social media analysis, and AI-driven storytelling, participants develop practical skills essential for success in today’s competitive media and communication sector. The 14th IGCF will take place on September 10–11 at Expo Centre Sharjah, continuing to highlight innovative strategies for enhancing quality of life.
