This update brings enhanced performance and aesthetic appeal to the MacBook Air lineup.
The M4 chip, built on a 3-nanometer process, incorporates 10 CPU cores—four performance and six efficiency cores—and up to 10 GPU cores. This architecture delivers a significant boost in processing power and energy efficiency, enhancing tasks from web browsing to video editing. The integrated 16-core Neural Engine can perform up to 38 trillion operations per second, facilitating advanced machine learning tasks.
The MacBook Air is available in 13-inch and 15-inch models, both featuring a high-resolution Liquid Retina display. The 13-inch model starts at $999, while the 15-inch variant begins at $1,199. Both models come standard with 16 GB of unified memory, configurable up to 32 GB, and storage options ranging from 256 GB to 2 TB SSDs.
A notable addition is the 12-megapixel webcam with Center Stage technology, which keeps users centered during video calls. Connectivity features include two Thunderbolt 4 ports, a MagSafe charging port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The laptops support Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3, ensuring fast and reliable wireless connections.
The new Sky Blue color adds a fresh aesthetic to the MacBook Air’s sleek design, joining existing Midnight, Starlight, and Silver options. This subtle metallic blue finish offers a modern look for users seeking style alongside performance.
Preorders for the new MacBook Air models are open, with availability starting March 12. These updates reinforce Apple’s commitment to blending cutting-edge technology with thoughtful design, offering users a versatile and visually appealing laptop experience.
