Hisense Unveils Massive 136-Inch MicroLED TV at CES 2025
Hisense has unveiled its largest television yet, the 136-inch 136MX, at CES 2025. This impressive screen is the company’s first foray into consumer-focused MicroLED technology, which is rapidly emerging as a promising alternative to OLED displays.
MicroLED technology, though still in its early commercial stages, offers numerous advantages over traditional OLED displays. These advantages include higher brightness, superior color accuracy, better contrast, longer lifespan, and improved energy efficiency. MicroLEDs consist of minuscule LEDs (typically smaller than 50 micrometers), each serving as an independent light source. This provides better control over the image quality, as individual pixels can be switched on or off to enhance clarity. Furthermore, MicroLEDs are made from inorganic materials, which significantly reduces the risk of burn-in compared to OLED technology.
The Hisense 136MX makes full use of MicroLED’s potential, reaching a remarkable brightness of 10,000 nits. Powered by Hisense’s Hi-View AI Engine X processor, the TV runs on the brand’s VIDAA operating system, ensuring an enhanced viewing experience.
While Hisense has not yet confirmed the release date for the 136MX, it has definitely raised the bar for the future of large-screen televisions.
