UAEV and AW Rostamani Group Sign Strategic Agreement to Expand Charging Access for Zeekr and Smart EV Drivers

Emarat EV Charging Stations Company (UAEV), a joint venture between the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MoEI) and Etihad Water and Electricity (Etihad WE), has signed a strategic agreement with AW Rostamani Group (AWR Group). This collaboration is designed to enhance the charging experience for electric vehicle (EV) owners across the UAE. The partnership aligns with the country’s commitment to sustainable mobility and supports the ongoing transition to clean transportation.
The agreement was formalized during the Electric Vehicle Innovation Summit (EVIS 2025), where key representatives from both companies were present. Hicham Ezzahid, CEO of UAEV, and Sanaa Ouahmane, CEO of AWR Group’s Mobility Services division, highlighted the importance of this collaboration for accelerating the country’s shift to cleaner energy solutions.
Convenient Charging Solutions for EV Owners
Through this agreement, AW Rostamani Group will offer charging credits to customers who purchase Zeekr and smart electric vehicles. These credits can be easily activated through the UAEV app and redeemed at any of UAEV’s growing charging stations nationwide. This initiative aims to simplify the charging process and ensure that EV owners have easy access to one of the UAE’s fastest-expanding charging networks.
Hicham Ezzahid expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, saying, “This agreement marks an important milestone in making EV adoption more accessible. By providing innovative solutions alongside expanded infrastructure, we are helping to accelerate the country’s transition to clean mobility.”
Supporting UAE’s Net Zero 2050 Strategy
This collaboration directly supports the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 Strategy and National Electric Vehicles Policy, both of which aim to reduce carbon emissions and promote clean energy solutions. The partnership is projected to reduce over 100,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions by 2030. Additionally, the network’s expansion, with plans to increase the number of charging stations from 122 to 300 by the end of 2025, will provide further support to EV owners across the country.
UAEV’s growing network of ultra-fast DC charging stations is strategically located to help reduce range anxiety and improve charging accessibility. This expansion ensures that long-distance travel is easier and more reliable for EV owners, increasing the confidence of drivers across the UAE.
A Seamless and Empowering EV Experience
The partnership also reflects UAEV’s broader mission to create a seamless charging experience that supports EV owners from purchase through everyday use. By addressing the gap between vehicles and infrastructure, the collaboration empowers drivers with a more connected and convenient experience.
The charging credit program will be launched in the coming months. Zeekr and smart vehicle owners will be encouraged to download the UAEV app to redeem their credits and access the expanding national network.
