With a game-changing start to the Abu Dhabi Mobility Week, the trails for the first passenger-carrying drones were conducted by Abu Dhabi Mobility. Multi Level Group (MLG) has partnered with Abu Dhabi Mobility for this project. This feat aligns with the vision of Abu Dhabi as a pioneer in the field of smart transportation. Furthermore, it consolidates its position as a market, friendly and fostering innovation in the smart mobility sector.

MLG is a UAE-based company specializing in automation and digital transformation. These trials of a small-sized drone capable of carrying two passengers for 35 Km. However, the headline and the showstopper of the event was a line of 5-seater Passenger-carrying drones. This drone is capable of flying over 25 Km with a payload of 350 Kg. In the demonstration, it completed a record-breaking flight of 40 minutes covering a distance of 123 Km- the longest ever recorded for a drone.

Mohamed Hamad Al Dhaheri, an MLG Board Member, created history by being the first person in the region to board an eVTOL for a trial flight. “Being a part of this historical moment is truly exhilarating. The seamless integration of technology and aviation represents a significant leap forward for our nation, and as an Emirati, I am proud to be a part of it.” Al Dhaheri stated

What takes flight with Passenger-carrying drones

The event showcased a diverse range of MLG’s autonomous aerial vehicles, including eVTOLs and surveillance drone systems. Demo flights demonstrated the technology’s sophistication and reliability. Abu Dhabi’s trials are a leap for the Smart and Autonomous Vehicles Industries (SAVI) cluster at Masdar City. The event at the Advanced Mobility Hub highlighted MLG’s Autonomous Aerial Vehicles (AAVs). They included eVTOLs (electric vertical takeoff and landing vehicles) and surveillance drones. Participants witnessed a variety of eVTOLs, from passenger taxis to freight logistics, showcasing MLG’s potential. MLG’s solutions have the potential to revolutionize transportation and logistics.
