Apple Launches iPhone 18 Pro With Camera Upgrades
Apple has launched the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, bringing major camera upgrades to its latest Pro lineup. Apple unveiled the phones on September 9, 2026, and UAE customers can pre-order starting September 12. Apple lists September 18 as the availability date.
For UAE buyers, the new Pro models stand out for their camera hardware. The iPhone 18 Pro introduces a 48MP Fusion Main camera with variable aperture, giving users greater control over light and depth of field.
Apple is also positioning the phones around longer battery life and stronger performance. Moreover, the company has introduced four finishes and two display sizes across the Pro range.
iPhone 18 Pro Gets Variable-Aperture Camera
The 48MP Fusion Main camera represents the biggest photography change. Unlike a fixed-aperture system, the new camera lets users adjust the aperture for different shooting conditions. As a result, UAE users can gain more control when photographing bright outdoor scenes or low-light subjects.
The camera system also includes a 48MP Fusion Ultra Wide camera. Meanwhile, the Fusion Telephoto camera adds further reach for distant subjects. Apple has also expanded controls within the Camera app, giving users more options when adjusting their shots.
In addition, the Pro models support advanced video features aimed at creators. These improvements should appeal to users who regularly record travel footage, social content and professional video in the UAE.
Apple is also emphasising computational photography. As a result, the company is combining the new hardware with software processing to improve image quality across different lighting conditions.
A20 Pro Adds Performance Improvements
The iPhone 18 Pro lineup also introduces Apple’s latest A20 Pro chip. The processor targets higher performance while improving power efficiency. Furthermore, Apple has redesigned the thermal architecture to help sustain performance during demanding workloads.
Battery life has also received attention. Apple describes the iPhone 18 Pro as offering the longest battery life in an iPhone.

Apple has also retained two Pro sizes. Buyers can choose between the standard Pro model and the larger Pro Max, depending on their preferred screen size and battery capacity.
UAE Availability and Pricing
Pre-orders for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max begin on September 12. Retail availability starts September 18.
For the UAE market, Apple has confirmed the models as part of its regional launch schedule. The UAE is also included among Apple’s Middle East markets listed on its regional store network.
The launch comes as Apple expands its 2026 iPhone lineup with both conventional Pro models and the new iPhone Duo foldable. The National reports that the iPhone Duo starts at Dh8,499 in the UAE.
As a result, the iPhone 18 Pro faces a more diverse premium smartphone market in the UAE. Samsung, Google and other manufacturers continue to compete across flagship and foldable segments.
