HUMAIN Unveils AI Model Based on Minimax
Saudi Arabia’s AI company HUMAIN has unveiled humain-m3, a new Arabic-language frontier model developed in partnership with the Chinese AI company MiniMax. The announcement came on September 3, 2026, at LEAP in Riyadh.
The launch marks another major step in Saudi Arabia’s push to develop domestic AI capabilities. At the same time, the model highlights HUMAIN’s growing reliance on international AI partnerships.
HUMAIN says MiniMax delivered humain-m3 after the Saudi company commissioned its development. The model builds on the MiniMax-M3 lineage and adds extensive Arabic-focused training.
HUMAIN Builds Arabic AI Around MiniMax
humain-m3 uses a 428-billion-parameter mixture-of-experts architecture. Moreover, HUMAIN further trained the model on more than one trillion tokens of Arabic-native content.
The company says this additional training targets Arabic language understanding and reasoning. Therefore, the model aims to improve performance across Arabic use cases while retaining the capabilities of its underlying architecture.
HUMAIN evaluated humain-m3 across seven public Arabic benchmarks. According to the company, it achieved the highest average score among the frontier models tested.
The model will initially reach users through HUMAIN Node. The platform provides developers, researchers and enterprises with access to AI models and inference capabilities.
Furthermore, HUMAIN plans to release the model weights after its research preview. The company currently targets an open-weight release next month, subject to safety training and alignment.
Focus Shifts Toward Arabic AI Capabilities
HUMAIN says the project addresses the limited representation of Arabic at the frontier of AI. Tareq Amin, CEO of HUMAIN, said: “Arabic is spoken by hundreds of millions of people, yet it remains significantly underrepresented at the frontier of artificial intelligence.”
He added: “With HUMAIN-M3, we are investing in changing that. And through HUMAIN Node, we are making that intelligence accessible so developers, researchers and innovators can experiment with it, build on it and create the next generation of Arabic AI experiences.”
The company is also developing the ALLAM family of Arabic models. Meanwhile, HUMAIN continues to work with AI companies globally as it expands its broader technology ecosystem.
However, HUMAIN-M3 differs from a model developed entirely from scratch by HUMAIN. The company openly identifies MiniMax as the model’s development partner and says the system builds on the MiniMax-M3 lineage.
That distinction matters as governments increasingly seek greater control over AI infrastructure and models. Saudi Arabia is therefore combining local Arabic data and training with technology developed through an international partnership.
HUMAIN Expands Saudi Arabia’s AI Strategy
The launch also aligns with HUMAIN’s broader full-stack AI strategy. The company is developing data centers, AI infrastructure, cloud platforms, models and applications within Saudi Arabia.
In addition, HUMAIN recently launched an AI cloud in Saudi Arabia powered by NVIDIA’s Blackwell Ultra platform. The company’s media center lists the launch among its latest developments.
Through humain-m3, HUMAIN is now adding another Arabic-focused model to that infrastructure strategy. Consequently, the company can offer developers access to locally relevant AI capabilities through HUMAIN Node.
The model’s initial research preview is available through HUMAIN Node. Meanwhile, HUMAIN expects broader access once safety training and alignment work is complete.
The development also strengthens MiniMax’s international reach. For Saudi Arabia, however, the larger objective remains building an AI ecosystem that combines domestic infrastructure, Arabic-language capabilities and access to global model technology.
