Dubai CommerCity Partners on Agentic AI

Dubai CommerCity Agentic AI MoU Signing

Dubai CommerCity has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Global Commerce Foundation to advance agentic AI in digital commerce. The agreement aims to support innovation, cross-border trade, and new technology applications across international markets.

The partnership was announced on October 7, 2026, at Dubai CommerCity’s headquarters during Ai Everything Abu Dhabi 2026. The event brought together technology companies, investors, and AI innovators from across the region.

Dubai CommerCity is part of the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority, or DIEZ. It operates as a dedicated free zone for digital commerce in the MENA region. Meanwhile, the Global Commerce Foundation focuses on international digital commerce, knowledge exchange, and cooperation between businesses, entrepreneurs, experts, and academic institutions.

Agentic AI Moves Into Digital Commerce

The agreement creates a framework for both organisations to explore agentic AI applications across digital and cross-border commerce. In particular, the partners will examine systems that can automate business tasks and processes with greater autonomy.

As a result, companies could use agentic AI to streamline operations, improve efficiency, and support expansion into new markets. The partnership will also examine unified and collaborative commerce models alongside emerging technologies.

She added that the partnership aims to turn these capabilities into practical applications that help businesses innovate, increase productivity, and reach new markets. Furthermore, she linked the collaboration to Dubai’s wider ambition to strengthen its position in global trade and the digital economy.

The move also builds on Dubai CommerCity’s existing work with AI companies. In 2025, the free zone partnered with qeen.ai and Portmind to expand AI adoption across e-commerce and international trade operations.

Research, Pilots and Business Development

Beyond technology exploration, the new partnership covers applied research and proof-of-concept projects. It will also include technology demonstrations, market studies, business cases, and the exchange of industry practices.

In addition, the organisations plan to support executive education, professional training, mentorship, and talent development. They will also explore innovation challenges, incubation programmes, and business accelerators.

This approach could provide companies with a path from early experimentation to practical deployment. At the same time, the partnership is intended to connect businesses, entrepreneurs, investors, academic institutions, and technology talent across markets.

Marcos Pueyrredon, President of the Global Commerce Foundation, said the collaboration would provide a platform for research, capacity building, and practical testing within an active business environment. He also highlighted the foundation’s international networks across Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe, and other markets.

The partnership therefore has a broader international dimension. It aims to connect Dubai with commercial ecosystems across Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe, and other regions while supporting the exchange of knowledge and expertise.

Dubai Targets the Next Phase of Commerce

One of the partnership’s first major initiatives will be the Global Finale of the Tetrix Agentic World League. The event is scheduled to take place in Dubai in 2027 during Dubai AI Week, in collaboration with Dubai CommerCity.

The event is expected to bring together companies, talent, institutions, and agentic AI solutions from different markets. Consequently, it could provide a practical setting for participants to demonstrate emerging applications and build international connections.

The agreement also supports the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33. The agenda seeks to strengthen Dubai’s role as a global trade and digital economy hub while expanding foreign trade and developing new economic opportunities through advanced technologies.

Meanwhile, Dubai CommerCity is expanding its wider digital commerce infrastructure. In May 2026, it announced an enhanced cross-border e-commerce platform with Dubai Customs, Dubai Municipality, and NAQEL Express. The platform supports automation across activities including ordering, customs clearance, and delivery.

Therefore, the latest agreement adds an AI layer to Dubai’s broader digital commerce strategy. As agentic systems move from assisted workflows toward more autonomous execution, the partnership will focus on testing where those systems can deliver practical value for businesses operating across borders.
