Dubai launches Create AI Agents Championship

Dubai has launched the Create AI Agents Championship, a global competition designed to accelerate agentic AI adoption. Moreover, the initiative encourages innovators to develop AI-powered solutions that address real-world challenges and evolving market needs.

HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum announced the championship during the third Create Apps Championship awards ceremony. He serves as Dubai’s Crown Prince, UAE Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Chairman of Dubai’s Executive Council.

Furthermore, Sheikh Hamdan emphasized how advanced technologies can strengthen human capabilities and support Dubai’s global leadership across multiple sectors.

Dubai Expands Its Global Technology Innovation Initiative

The new championship builds on the Create Apps Championship, which operates under the Create Apps in Dubai initiative. The Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy leads the program to promote digital skills, application development, and technology entrepreneurship.

Over three editions, the competition has attracted 15,564 applications from 153 countries. Additionally, it has contributed to developing 1,700 prototypes and supported the launch of more than 140 applications.

The third edition alone received 9,754 entries worldwide, demonstrating growing international interest in Dubai’s technology ecosystem.

Consequently, the transition toward AI agents marks another step in the emirate’s efforts to strengthen its digital economy.

Create AI Agents Championship Introduces Four Categories

Unlike the previous competition, the Create AI Agents Championship focuses on developing autonomous AI-agent systems rather than conventional digital applications.

These systems will integrate into practical applications that address user requirements and commercial challenges. Moreover, the competition encourages participants to explore innovative applications of agentic AI across different sectors.

Participants can compete in four categories:

Each category winner will receive $150,000 (Dh550,000). Meanwhile, the overall champion will earn the AI Agent of the Year title and $272,294 (Dh1 million).

Altogether, the competition offers more than $680,735 (Dh2.5 million) in prize money, creating significant incentives for global innovators.

Strengthening Dubai’s Position in Agentic AI

The championship aligns with Dubai’s broader strategy to accelerate the practical adoption of agentic AI technologies. Furthermore, it aims to prepare businesses to integrate autonomous AI systems into everyday operations.

Through this initiative, Dubai seeks to encourage technological innovation while expanding commercial opportunities for AI developers and entrepreneurs.

Additionally, the competition supports the emirate’s ambition to lead the economic and commercial application of emerging technologies.

As AI-powered automation continues to evolve, the championship could help transform promising concepts into practical solutions. Ultimately, Dubai aims to strengthen its position as a global hub for AI innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology-driven economic growth.
