UAE Cyber Security Council, du Strengthen Cooperation
The UAE Cyber Security Council (CSC) and du are exploring stronger cooperation in cybersecurity and digital resilience.
Dr. Mohammed Al Kuwaiti, Chairman of the UAE Cyber Security Council, met Fahad Al Hassawi, CEO of du, and senior company representatives. Together, they discussed emerging technologies, advanced infrastructure, and the private sector’s role in supporting national digital priorities.
Meanwhile, the discussions focused on improving cybersecurity readiness as digital threats continue to evolve. The two sides also examined how stronger coordination could support the UAE’s digital transformation and secure digital economy.
He also welcomed opportunities to deepen cooperation in infrastructure, emerging technologies and cybersecurity solutions. Furthermore, he linked these efforts to the UAE’s goal of developing an innovative and globally competitive digital economy.
Focus on Digital Infrastructure and Cybersecurity
Al Hassawi stressed the importance of aligning private-sector capabilities with national priorities. He also highlighted the need to keep infrastructure supporting the UAE’s digital development secure and resilient.
“It is our responsibility to contribute to this foundation through advanced infrastructure, secure digital solutions and technologies that create confidence across the economy,” he said.
He added that du looks forward to identifying areas where its capabilities can support CSC priorities and the UAE’s wider digital ambitions. Therefore, the engagement could help connect national cybersecurity objectives with du’s technology and infrastructure capabilities.
The meeting also reflects the growing role of telecommunications companies in national cybersecurity. As digital services expand, telecom infrastructure increasingly supports businesses, government institutions and communities across the UAE.
Moreover, du has continued to expand its cybersecurity capabilities. Its Cyber Defense Center provides 24/7 security monitoring, incident response and threat intelligence services from within the UAE.
du Highlights Cybersecurity Capabilities
During the visit, du presented its cybersecurity capabilities and measures for protecting infrastructure. The briefing covered systems serving businesses, institutions and communities.
The company also showcased its advanced infrastructure and digital solutions. Consequently, the presentation highlighted du’s broader role in the UAE’s digital ecosystem beyond traditional connectivity services.
The latest engagement builds on earlier cooperation between du and the Cyber Security Council. In June, du signed an agreement with Open Innovation AI in collaboration with the CSC to support secure, in-country AI deployment.
That initiative uses du Tech’s National Hypercloud and focuses on sovereign AI infrastructure. It also places data security and digital sovereignty within the infrastructure supporting AI workloads.
Therefore, the latest CSC and du discussions point to a broader effort to strengthen the UAE’s digital resilience. As the country expands advanced digital infrastructure, cybersecurity remains central to protecting critical systems and supporting continued digital growth.
