Xiaomi has introduced a compact Bluetooth speaker that also works as a phone stand. The device magnetically attaches to the back of wireless charging phones and keeps them upright for viewing videos or listening to music.
Additionally, the speaker uses a Hall effect sensor that automatically detects attachment and turns on without requiring a button press. It includes a 1.5-inch full-range driver, a 3W output rating, a 650mAh battery, Bluetooth 6.0 connectivity, USB-C charging, and an IP67 protection rating.
Features and Design
The magnetic base supports phones with wireless charging, including iPhones. Furthermore, once attached, the speaker creates a convenient stand that tilts the phone upward on a desk.
Moreover, the compact design weighs around 95 grams, so it does not add much bulk to the phone. The speaker features a dome-shaped body with woven fabric mesh and a metal ring detail.
It is available in black and tan colour options. Meanwhile, both versions include a glowing base ring that changes between blue, purple, and pink colours while reacting to audio playback.
Performance, Price, and Availability
The speaker launched through a crowdfunding campaign with a price of ¥199, which is around $30. However, early supporters can purchase it for ¥132, or approximately $20.
Inside, the speaker uses a single 1.5-inch full-range driver rated at 3W. Therefore, it is designed for close-range video playback and background music rather than replacing larger desktop speakers.
Additionally, two units can connect for stereo sound, while up to 10 speakers can link together for a larger audio setup. The device supports Bluetooth 6.0 but does not include a charging cable or power adapter.
Furthermore, the speaker does not include voice assistant features. Currently, it remains a crowdfunding product focused on the Chinese market, and international availability has not been announced.
