Honor has confirmed that its highly anticipated Robot Phone will launch in China on August 12, following months of teasers and public demonstrations. The company also plans to host a dedicated imaging showcase on July 28, highlighting the handset’s advanced robotic camera technology. Consequently, Honor is building momentum ahead of what could become one of its most innovative smartphone launches.
The Robot Phone first appeared at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 before gaining widespread attention during the FIFA World Cup 2026 final, where it was spotted recording celebrations. Moreover, recent leaks, including an unboxing video and promotional materials, have revealed new details about the device’s design, retail packaging, and color options.
Robotic Camera Takes Center Stage
Honor has designed the Robot Phone around a motorized 4D gimbal camera that sits beneath a protective glass cover. When activated, a titanium-alloy robotic arm deploys in approximately 0.8 seconds, allowing the camera to rotate and tilt to keep subjects in frame. Therefore, the device aims to deliver professional-grade photography and videography while introducing a new form of intelligent camera interaction.
Honor has also confirmed a collaboration with German cinema equipment manufacturer ARRI to enhance the phone’s imaging capabilities. As a result, the Robot Phone is expected to offer advanced stabilization and cinematic video features tailored for creators and mobile photographers.

A leaked unboxing video suggests the Robot Phone will be available in multiple premium color options, although Honor has yet to confirm the complete lineup officially. In addition, the retail packaging highlights the handset’s distinctive robotic camera module and premium build quality.
Leaks also indicate the smartphone could feature a 6.3- to 6.4-inch 1.5K flat display powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. The camera system is rumored to include a 200MP primary sensor on the robotic gimbal, a 200MP periscope telephoto camera, and a 50MP ultra-wide sensor. Furthermore, the device is expected to pack a 6,000mAh battery with support for 120W fast charging. Honor has not officially confirmed these specifications.
