BYD has introduced its flagship Da Han sedan as part of its expanding global electric vehicle strategy. Moreover, the company is strengthening its presence across multiple markets with new vehicle launches, updated models, and strategic partnerships.
The Da Han is a full-size sedan that offers up to 1,008 km of range under CLTC testing. Additionally, the vehicle uses a 102.3 kWh lithium iron phosphate Blade Battery with ultra-fast charging support through an 800V architecture.
Furthermore, the battery-electric version delivers 370 kW through a single motor. Meanwhile, the dual-motor all-wheel-drive variant produces a combined 570 kW, equal to 764 horsepower, while offering up to 880 km of range.
The lineup also includes a plug-in hybrid version with a 54.5 kWh battery and up to 370 km of electric-only driving range. Therefore, the model targets premium customers seeking longer range and advanced charging technology.
The Da Han will make its public debut at the Chengdu Auto Show, which begins on August 21.
Updated Electric Models Expand Global Reach
Meanwhile, BYD is preparing updates for its Sealion 7 electric SUV in Malaysia. The company has teased the updated model ahead of its July 30 reveal.
Additionally, the upgraded Sealion 7 is expected to feature a 91.3 kWh Blade Battery already used in European versions. Furthermore, the model could offer 502 km of WLTP range with an 800V platform and DC fast charging support of up to 230 kW.
As a result, charging time from 10% to 80% could reduce to around 24 minutes. However, the current Malaysian version uses an 82.5 kWh battery pack with charging limited to 150 kW.
In the UK, BYD has confirmed pricing for the Dolphin G DM-i, a B-segment plug-in hybrid hatchback. Moreover, the model will start at £23,990 and combine a 1.5-litre petrol engine with electric motors.
Additionally, higher trims with an 18.3 kWh battery will provide up to 104 km of electric-only range. First customer deliveries are expected during autumn 2026.
Partnership Focuses on Affordable EV Access
Furthermore, BYD Australia has announced a strategic partnership with Smartgroup Corporation to integrate novated leasing into the vehicle purchasing process.
The arrangement will allow more than 2.5 million Australians working across government, healthcare, education, and corporate sectors to access tax benefits on eligible BYD and DENZA vehicles.
Moreover, the partnership supports Australia’s electric vehicle discount policy and aims to make EV ownership more accessible. Additionally, qualifying orders placed through July will receive a $2,500 cashback offer.
Therefore, BYD’s latest moves highlight its continued push into international markets through advanced electric vehicles, competitive pricing, and new ownership solutions.
