Apple has unveiled Siri AI, a redesigned version of its virtual assistant powered by Apple Intelligence. As a result, the assistant delivers a more conversational and personalized AI experience across devices.
The upgraded assistant now understands personal context, recognizes on-screen content, and offers broader knowledge capabilities. Consequently, users can access information from the web as well as personal messages, emails, photos, and other content in real time. Siri AI also introduces a dedicated app that allows users to revisit conversations across products. In addition, it expands the Visual Intelligence experience and includes integrated writing tools.
Smarter Understanding and Stronger Privacy
Siri AI runs on a new architecture designed to enhance privacy while improving intelligence. At the same time, it brings advanced reasoning, deeper understanding, and powerful systemwide capabilities to the company’s operating systems.
Craig Federighi, senior vice president of Software Engineering, said that, “We’re excited to introduce Siri AI, a dramatically more capable and conversational assistant designed to help users find information and get things done throughout the day. With access to broad world knowledge for up-to-date answers on virtually any topic, along with onscreen awareness and personal context understanding, Siri AI can help users take action across apps more naturally than ever.”
Expanded App Actions and Real-Time Knowledge
Siri AI can now perform more actions across apps. For example, users can draft an email from scratch, edit photos, or share image collections without switching between multiple applications. Moreover, its on-screen awareness enables it to answer questions based on the content currently displayed on a device.
“In addition, Siri AI can use broad world knowledge to get up-to-date information from the web on virtually any topic and generate a helpful answer, such as when and where to see the next solar eclipse, or when a musician is coming to town. Users can extend almost any response from Siri into a rich conversation and ask follow-up questions,” according to the statement.
Developer testing for the new features is already available through the Apple Developer Program. Meanwhile, Siri AI will also become available for testing in a future watchOS 27 beta. Later this year, the assistant will launch as a beta for users with supported devices set to English. Furthermore, support for additional languages will expand shortly afterward.
