Spotify has entered the digital fitness space with its new “Fitness with Spotify” experience. As a result, the platform expands beyond music streaming into guided workouts and wellness content.
The company introduced the feature by integrating structured fitness sessions into its existing ecosystem of music, podcasts, audiobooks, and video. Consequently, users can access workouts without leaving the app. Moreover, this approach strengthens its content-driven strategy while keeping the experience flexible and accessible.
A New Hub for Workouts and Wellness
The update adds a dedicated Fitness hub that offers curated playlists and guided sessions. These sessions cover strength training, cardio, yoga, meditation, and recovery. In addition, the platform partners with creators such as Kassandra Reinhardt, Chloe Ting, and Raven Ross to deliver structured programs.
Users can find the hub by searching for “fitness” or browsing within the app. While most content is available in English, some sessions also support Spanish and German. Therefore, the platform can reach a broader global audience.
As part of the rollout, Spotify partnered with Peloton to expand its premium offering. Consequently, Premium subscribers in supported markets gain access to more than 1,400 on-demand classes. These sessions feature instructors such as Rebecca Kennedy, Ally Love, and Rad Lopez.
The classes include outdoor running and mat-based workouts, and they do not require specialized equipment. Additionally, users can download them for offline access, which increases convenience during travel or outdoor activities.
Cross-Platform Experience and Growing Competition
The feature supports seamless cross-device use, allowing users to move between devices without interruption. For example, they can start a workout on a TV, switch to audio on a smartphone, and continue recovery on a smart speaker. As a result, the experience remains continuous and flexible.
The company also reported that more than 150 million fitness playlists already exist on the platform. Furthermore, nearly 70 percent of Premium users engage with workout-related content each month, which highlights strong demand.
With this launch, Spotify moves into direct competition with Apple Fitness+ and Fitbit. However, unlike these rivals, Spotify does not depend on dedicated hardware or wearable devices. Instead, it focuses on a content-first model and cross-platform accessibility.
The feature is rolling out to both free and Premium users. Meanwhile, expanded content remains available through subscriptions and partnerships, ensuring a scalable and evolving fitness experience.
