Titan Lithium Industries Ltd has signed a major supply framework agreement with Mercedes-Benz AG to provide battery-grade lithium for the automaker’s global electric vehicle portfolio. As a result, the multi-year deal, valued at more than USD 300 million, strengthens the UAE’s role in critical clean-energy supply chains while supporting global electrification efforts.
Strategic Supply Chain Partnership
Through this agreement, Titan Lithium becomes an approved supplier within Mercedes-Benz’s global battery materials network. Consequently, the partnership supports long-term supply security and promotes geographically diversified lithium sourcing. At the same time, the agreement aligns with broader industry efforts to reduce concentration risk in critical minerals. Moreover, the collaboration reflects increasing demand for responsibly produced battery materials as electric vehicle adoption accelerates worldwide.
KEZAD-Based Low-Carbon Production
Titan Lithium’s refinery operates from Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi, where it uses clean energy and advanced refining technologies. As a result, the facility produces battery-grade lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide suited to low-carbon automotive supply chains. In addition, the refinery supports the UAE’s strategy to localize high-value downstream manufacturing of critical materials. Commercial supply under the framework is expected to begin in 2028, subject to standard conditions.
Industrial and Energy Transition Impact
The agreement reinforces the UAE’s industrial diversification and energy-transition objectives. Furthermore, it demonstrates the country’s ability to integrate into global clean-technology value chains at scale. By attracting long-term partnerships with global manufacturers, the UAE continues to expand its role as a reliable hub for advanced industrial production.
