Samsung Unveils Design-Focused Music Studio Speakers

Samsung Music Studio minimalist speaker

Samsung is taking a design-first approach with its new Music Studio 5 and Music Studio 7 Wi-Fi speakers, which aim to stand out in a crowded category. While most wireless speakers prioritize features over form, these models instead place visual presence at the center of the experience. As a result, they target users who care as much about interiors as sound.

Design-led speakers debuting at CES 2026

The Music Studio speakers will appear publicly at CES 2026, and their visual identity immediately sets them apart. The products were developed with Erwan Bouroullec, known for restrained, architectural design. Consequently, both speakers adopt a minimal, sculptural form that feels closer to modern furniture than traditional audio gear. Although the look will divide opinion, it clearly avoids the familiar boxy speaker aesthetic. For now, the lineup is available only in black, which reinforces its monolithic character but limits flexibility for varied interior designs.

Audio capabilities and everyday features

Despite the visual emphasis, the Music Studio 7 focuses on immersive sound performance. It uses a 3.1.1-channel spatial audio setup with upward-firing drivers and supports high-resolution audio processing up to 24-bit at 96 kHz. Meanwhile, the Music Studio 5 takes a subtler approach. It features a 4-inch woofer, paired with dual tweeters, and shares the same AI-driven bass control system to reduce distortion. In addition, both speakers support Wi-Fi and Bluetooth streaming, as well as voice control, which keeps them competitive with established multi-room systems.

Positioning and what to expect next

Ultimately, these speakers prioritize aesthetics over mass appeal. Therefore, they are likely to attract listeners who value minimalist design and want an alternative to more familiar ecosystems. However, buyers will need to accept a limited color choice and premium positioning. Pricing and availability remain unconfirmed, but more details are expected to emerge once CES begins.
