The airline plans to introduce complimentary, ultra-fast Starlink Wi-Fi across its entire active fleet by mid-2027, and it will begin with Boeing 777 aircraft in November 2025. This upgrade will deliver ground-level browsing quality at cruising altitude, and it will significantly enhance the in-flight digital experience. As a result, passengers will be able to stream videos, make calls, play games, browse social feeds, and use real-time online tools on both seatback screens and personal devices. The system also aims to offer smooth, high-capacity connectivity across every cabin class.
The rollout will gradually cover all 232 aircraft in operation over the coming two years. Meanwhile, the first Starlink-equipped aircraft, a Boeing 777-300ER registered as A6-EPF, is being showcased at an airshow where visitors can try the high-speed network. After the event, A6-EPF will operate the first commercial flight with Starlink and will initiate an accelerated installation schedule. Furthermore, the airline expects to upgrade roughly 14 aircraft each month. Installations on A380 aircraft will start in February 2026. Each Boeing 777 will include two Starlink antennae, while each A380 will carry three, ensuring strong performance and broad global coverage.
Additionally, Live TV streaming via Starlink will be introduced. This feature will appear first on personal devices and later on seatback screens beginning in late December 2025. Starlink Wi-Fi will be free for all passengers and will offer simple one-click access without requiring payment or loyalty-program login.
Advancing In-Flight Technology and Cabin Experience
The connectivity upgrade forms one part of a broader transformation of the onboard experience. Alongside the Starlink installation, the airline is conducting an extensive cabin refurbishment program that includes new Premium Economy cabins, enhancements to Business Class, refreshed First Class suites, and upgraded entertainment technologies. This effort aims to provide a more modern and comfortable experience across all cabin classes.
The overall plan is designed to combine advanced connectivity, improved cabin environments, and a wide range of entertainment options. These enhancements work together to elevate expectations of long-haul travel and to deliver a more seamless digital experience throughout the journey.
Part of a Larger Modernization Program
This initiative supports a nearly 220-aircraft retrofit program. So far, 76 refurbished aircraft have returned to service with upgraded Premium Economy seating, redesigned Business Class layouts, refreshed First Class suites, and improved cabin finishes. Moreover, the connectivity improvements complement existing amenities such as thousands of entertainment channels, an onboard lounge on A380 aircraft, and a dedicated shower spa in First Class. As the upgrade progresses, passengers will experience a more integrated blend of comfort, technology, and convenience.
