Alibaba has launched its most advanced AI model to date, the Qwen3-Max, which features over 1 trillion parameters. This makes it the company’s largest and most powerful model yet. With enhanced strength in code generation and autonomous agent functions, it can make decisions and act independently with fewer human prompts. Consequently, the system sets a new benchmark for large-scale AI capabilities.
Outperforming Rivals and Expanding AI Focus
According to third-party tests, Qwen3-Max surpassed competing models such as Anthropic’s Claude and DeepSeek-V3.1 in several performance measures. Furthermore, Alibaba revealed that it had already prioritized AI alongside its traditional e-commerce operations. Earlier this year, it pledged 380 billion yuan ($53.40 billion) for AI-related infrastructure over three years. At the latest conference, leadership confirmed that investments would increase even further, reflecting the surging demand for AI innovation.
New Products for Immersive Applications
In addition to Qwen3-Max, the company unveiled Qwen3-Omni, a multimodal immersive system designed for advanced use cases. This includes applications in virtual reality, smart glasses, and intelligent cockpits. Together, these innovations demonstrate Alibaba’s ambition to remain at the forefront of the global AI race, while ensuring China’s technology sector continues to expand rapidly.
